Rains
Rainy season is here, which means torrential downpours almost every day, usually in the late afternoon or early evening. Every time it starts to rain I immediately think about the hundreds of thousands of people without a real roof over their heads. The feeling is amplified when I'm in one of the camps during the rain and witness it firsthand. I was in a meeting in a temporary structure we've built when the rain began today. The rain on the tin roof was deafening and since we were getting wet from all sides we halted the meeting as the 30 of us huddled together in the middle and watched the dirt turn to mud. Interestingly, a group of boys continued on with their game of football - I'm sure they were instantly cooled off (you can see them in the photo).
